Thai tones

Postby matkujawski3668 » July 21st, 2014 7:51 pm

สวัสดีครับคุณสบายดีไหมนะครับ ผมเรียนภาษาไทยที่บ้านวันทุกวนนะครับ ผมได้อ่านและเขียนและพูดนะครับ
I have problem with the tones, I don’t know when is Rising, Falling etc. tone.
I don’t know what this mean, that the syllable are live, dead.
I am read every day Thai, but the last two tones are really rare อ๊ อ๋
Somebody also say to me, if i want to know what the word have the tone
i need to look on the first letter in the word - from the alphabet - and all letters
have 3 tones, low, medium, high. So how i can to know about others tones, falling, rising.
Sometimes the words don’t have it any tones above the words, but they still
have it a tone like for example สวย ถนน เห็น all are Rising tones, without any
tone above the words. Other example เทียว ชวย รูป all are Falling tone, also
without any tone above the words. So how I can know when is falling, rising tone etc
when I don’t see any tone?
I know the tones are very important to Thai people, and I want to know how I should
speak and read the words with the tones correctly. Like I say before, I can read, write (even In my
Textbook with my pen ) speak – but I don’t know about this tones. I have the lessons
With the thai words, and in this lesson, every word have the tones – but I think is not
Possible to learn every word with the tones in my head.
So if you can help mi with this I be really thankful.
ขอบคุณมากๆนะครับ
ลาก่อนนะครับ

Hi

I think it will help a lot if you watch our Thai Alphabet Made Easy lessons. Here is the link : http://www.thaipod101.com/index.php?cat=38
Watch through all of them and see if you understand about the Thai alphabet and tones better. If not please leave a comment with your questions. Hope this helps.

Have a good day. :)
