| Jay: When you want to ask what someone is doing now, you can use the word yùu. It can be used as an auxiliary verb to indicate progressive tense. So the question will be “tham à-rai yùu?” meaning “What are you doing?” Tham means “to do”, à-rai is “what” and yùu in this phrase is an auxiliary verb. You can answer the questions with yùu too, for example, "I am working" which is tham-ngaan yùu. “I am having a meal" is gin khâao yùu, and "I am studying" is riian yùu. |
