Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.

Hello A.L.,

Thank you very much for your comment and question. When come to apologized, we would be consider how bad is the situation that you need to apologized. Small thing like bump into someone or interrupt someone. When you need to do the gesture "wai" with falling tone, with more serious problems and the other person is really upset with what you've done. Hope that's help. Please let me know if you have any future questions. I will be glad to help. We wish you will have a good progress with Thai.

Have a great day.

Dear Teacher Sa-wat-dii khrap

I'd like to know when apologizing, should both men and women, young and old people do the gesture wai ?
