Hello, guys! Welcome back to Thai Top Words. I’m Jay, and today we’re going to do 10 things to Do in the Summer in Thailand. Let’s get started.

1. ไปต่างประเทศ (bpai dtàang bprà-thêet) “travel abroad”

พ่อกับแม่ไปต่างประเทศ (phâaw gàp mâae bpai dtàang bprà-thêet) “Dad and mom travel aboard.”

Nowadays, there are lot of Thais that love to go abroad during the summer because they want to get away from the heat.

2. พักผ่อนริมชายหาด (phák phàawn rim chaai hàat) “relax at the beach”

ฉันชอบไปพักผ่อนริมชายหาด (chăn châawp bpai phák phàawn rim chaai hàat) “I like to relax at the beach.”

I know many love to go to Hua Hin. It’s my favorite beach so far, the city is so cool and nice, and the food is great.

3. เรียนภาษาไทยกับ ThaiPod101.com (riian phaa-sǎa thai gàp thai-pòt nùeng-sǔun-nùeng dàwt khaawm) “Learn Thai with ThaiPod101.com.”

I’m not trying to promote anything but is a good way spend your summer.

เรียนภาษาไทยกับ ThaiPod101.com (riian phaa-sǎa thai gàp thai-pòt nùeng-sǔun-nùeng dàwt khaawm) “Learn Thai with ThaiPod101.com.”

ฉันเรียนภาษาไทยกับ ThaiPod101.com (chăn riian phaa-sǎa thai gàp thai-pòt nùeng-sǔun-nùeng dàwt khaawm) “I learn Thai with ThaiPod101.com.”

In summer it’s hot and why do you want to go outside? Just stay home and you actually learn about something.

4. เรียนทำอาหาร ไทย (riian tham aa-hăan thai) “learn to cook Thai food”

คุณเรียนทำอาหารไทยที่ไหน (khun riian tham aa-hăan thai thîi nǎi) “Where do you learn to cook Thai food?”

If you have the ingredients, you can just turn on the Youtube and learn in your own kitchen.

You could say, ฉันเรียนจาก Youtube (chăn riian cák Youtube) “I learned from Youtube.”

5. ทำบาร์บีคิว (tham baa bii khiu) “have a barbecue”

ฉันทำบาร์บีคิวกับเพื่อนๆ (chăn tham baa bii khiu gàp phûuean phûuean) “I have a barbecue with friends.”

I kind of think this is not a normal thing to be doing during summer, because if the weather is very hot, why do you want to go outside and make barbecue.

6. ปาร์ตี้ตลอดทั้งคืน (bpaa-dtíi dtà-làawt tháng khuuen) “party all night”

เขาปาร์ตี้ตลอดทั้งคืน (khăo bpaa-dtíi dtà-làawt tháng khuuen) “He parties all night.”

Which is good because we can do it any time, it doesn’t have to be in summer, we can do it any time at all and I love it!

7. อาบแดด (àap dàaet) “sunbathe”

นักท่องเที่ยวชอบมาอาบแดดที่นี่ (nák-thâawng-thîiao châawp maa àap dàaet thîi nîi) “Tourists like to sunbathe here.”

Thailand is a popular place for people to come and sunbathe, to have a tan skin.

8. ไปเดินเขา (bpai dooen khăo) “go hiking”

เธอไปเดินเขาคนเดียว (thooe bpai dooen khăo khon diiao) “She goes hiking alone.”

I can’t do that. I’m afraid.

9. เล่นสนุกกับเพื่อนๆ (lên sà-nùk gàp phûuean phûuean) “have fun with friends”

เขามักเล่นสนุกกับเพื่อนๆ ตอนปิดเทอม (khăo mák lên sà-nùk gàp phûuean phûuean dtaawn bpìt thooem)

“He usually has fun with friends during school break.”

10. ไปเรียนภาคฤดูร้อน (bpai riian phâak rúe-duu ráawn) “attend summer school”

ฉันไปเรียนภาคฤดูร้อน (chăn bpai riian phâak rúe-duu ráawn) “I attend summer school.”

Seriously? I mean, like, it’s summer and you have to study?
