| John: In this lesson, you’ll learn about asking for directions in a building. The conversation takes place at a hotel. |

| John: If you go to a meeting with people you haven’t met before, would you need to give them a business card? I know that business cards are necessary in some countries, is it the same in Thailand? |
| Anutida: Yes, it is. You should always have business cards with you if you go to a meeting or conference. |
| John: Are they that important? |
| Anutida: Yes, they are. There are a few rules about handling business cards too. |
| John: What are those? |
| Anutida: When you receive a business card, you should look at it carefully and safely put it away in your wallet. |
| John: What should you do with your business card? If there are several people at the meeting, who do you give it to? |
| Anutida: You should first give it to the most senior, or most important person in the meeting. |
| John: That’s good to know. What information should be on the card? |
| Anutida: Your name, company, position, and contact details. |

| John: It’s used in the same way as the English "thank you." |
| Anutida: You can use the ending particles, ค่ะ(khá) and ครับ(khráp) to make it more polite. |
| John: How can we say "thank you" to friends and those of a lower status? |
| Anutida: You can use ขอบใจ(khàawp-jai). |
| John: Can you give us an example using this word? |

| Anutida: Yes, the sentence structure is subject, followed by a verb, followed by ทางไหน(thaang năi). |
| John: Let’s hear an example. |
| Anutida: ห้องน้ำไปทางไหน(hâwng-náam bpai thaang năi) |
| John: "Which way is the toilet?" |
| Anutida: First is the subject - ห้องน้ำ(hâwng-náam), which means "toilet." Next is the verb ไป(bpai). |
| John: That means "to go." And then at the end is the phrase we heard earlier. |
