| "I'm Australian." |
| First is ดิฉัน (dì-chǎn), "I," when the speaker is a female. ดิฉัน |
| Note: a male speaker would use ผม (phǒm), "I." ผม |
| Next is เป็น (bpen), the verb "to be." Here, it’s like the "am" in "I am." เป็น. เป็น |
| After this is คนออสเตรเลีย (khon-áawt-dtree-liia), "Australian," as a person from Australia. คนออสเตรเลีย. |
| This starts with คน (khon), literally, "person." คน. คน |
| Next is ออสเตรเลีย (áawt-dtree-liia), "Australia." ออสเตรเลีย. ออสเตรเลีย |
| Together it's คนออสเตรเลีย (khon-áawt-dtree-liia), literally, "person Australia," but it translates as "Australian," as in an Australian person. คนออสเตรเลีย |
| Last is ค่ะ (khâ), the polite ending particle for a female speaker. ค่ะ |
| All together, ดิฉันเป็นคนออสเตรเลียค่ะ (dì-chǎn-bpen-khon-áawt-dtree-liia-khâ), means "I'm Australian." |
| For a female speaker the pattern is: |
| ดิฉันเป็นคน (dì-chǎn-bpen-khon)HOME COUNTRY ค่ะ (khâ) |
| "I'm NATIONALITY." |
| This pattern for a male speaker is: |
| ผมเป็นคน (phǒm-bpen-khon)HOME COUNTRY ครับ (khráp) |
| "I'm NATIONALITY." |
| To use this pattern, you can simply replace the HOME COUNTRY placeholder with the country where you're from. |
