SLANG EXPRESSIONS

Jay: หมดตูด (mòt-dtùut)
Jay: จบข่าว (jòp khàao)
Jay: อะไร ยังไง (a-rai yang-ngai)
John: Jay, what's our first expression?
Jay: เนียน (niian)
John: This literally means "smooth," but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "stealthy, stealthily, or to blend in or to try to be unnoticed."
Jay: [SLOW] เนียน [NORMAL] เนียน
John: Listeners, please repeat.
Jay: เนียน
[pause - 5 sec.]
John: Use this expression when you find someone being stealthy or pretending to be unnoticed in a way where they try to blend into the environment.
John: Now, let's hear an example sentence.
Jay: [NORMAL] บางคนไม่ได้ถูกเชิญมางานปาร์ตี้ แต่ก็เแอบเนียนเข้าไปในงาน [SLOW] บางคนไม่ได้ถูกเชิญมางานปาร์ตี้ แต่ก็เแอบเนียนเข้าไปในงาน
John: "Some people were not invited but they stealthily snuck into this party anyway."
Jay: [NORMAL] บางคนไม่ได้ถูกเชิญมางานปาร์ตี้ แต่ก็เแอบเนียนเข้าไปในงาน
John: Okay, what's the next expression?
Jay: หมดตูด (mòt-dtùut)
John: The phrase consists of…
Jay: หมด (mòt)
John: ...meaning “out of stock,” and...
Jay: ตูด (dtùut)
John: ...meaning someone's “behind,” but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "broke, or no money."
Jay: [SLOW] หมดตูด [NORMAL] หมดตูด
John: Listeners, please repeat.
Jay: หมดตูด
[pause - 5 sec.]
John: Use this expression to refer to someone who has spent all their money.
John: Now, let's hear an example sentence.
Jay: [NORMAL] เดือนนี้ชอปปิงมากไปหน่อย หมดตูดเลย [SLOW] เดือนนี้ชอปปิงมากไปหน่อย หมดตูดเลย

John: Okay, what's our next expression?
Jay: จบข่าว (jòp khàao)
John: This literally means "end of the news," but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "end of story."
Jay: [SLOW] จบข่าว [NORMAL] จบข่าว
John: Listeners, please repeat.
Jay: จบข่าว
[pause - 5 sec.]
John: Use this expression when you want to end a conversation and there's nothing more to say. Also, it can be used in the way that the final outcome or conclusion has already occurred; thus, there's nothing more to know or ask about the story.
John: Now, let's hear an example sentence.
Jay: [NORMAL] ไม่มีอะไรจะเล่าแล้ว จบข่าวนะ [SLOW] ไม่มีอะไรจะเล่าแล้ว จบข่าวนะ
John: "There's nothing more to tell you. End of story!"
Jay: [NORMAL] ไม่มีอะไรจะเล่าแล้ว จบข่าวนะ
John: Okay, what's the last expression?

Jay: [SLOW] อะไร ยังไง [NORMAL] อะไร ยังไง
John: Listeners, please repeat.
Jay: อะไร ยังไง
[pause - 5 sec.]

John: Now, let's hear an example sentence.
Jay: [NORMAL] ได้ข่าวว่าไปเดทมา อะไร ยังไง เนี่ย [SLOW] ได้ข่าวว่าไปเดทมา อะไร ยังไง เนี่ย
