can you explain ngan and gan as in ngan jooe gan i know jooe means meet but the other words are used by the speakers on occasions

"rǒoe" เหรอ is an alternate pronunciation of หรือ "rǔue", an interrogative utterance, usually expressing surprise or doubt or seeking confirmation. Also, a word used at the end of a statement to indicate a question, usually when the response is presumed.

คุณจะไปละเหรอ "khoonM jaL bpaiM laaeoH rǒoe" "[So,] are you going now? [Seems you weren’t just a minute ago.]"

เขาไปแล้วเหรอ khaoR bpaiM laaeoH rǒoe "Have he gone already?"

รถคันนั้นเหรอ rotH khanM nanH rǒoe "That car?"

หิวขนาดนั้นเลยเหรอ hiuR khaL-naatL-nanH looeiM rǒoe "Are you that hungry?"

khaL-naatL-nanH = That much.

looeiM = [used for emphasis at the end of a statement] "...at all." — "...so much!" — "...extremely!

If your friend look hungry and you want to ask "Are you hungry?" You will say: hiuR rǒoe

Hi Kru Parisa,

I don't understand the use of the word "rǒoe". The description in the dialogue sounds like a word that I've always used and every Thai person I know uses but it has an L sound. I don't know the Thai spelling but in English it sounds like "luua" with a rising tone. I discussed this with my Thai friend and even played the audio from the lesson but she doesn't know what "rǒoe" means.

I would appreciate it if you can explain this to me. Thanks.

It's not about education but from our family try to make us afraid since we were a kid, so we not go out of the house and hurt our self, play around too much at night and so on.
