Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Jay: When you suggest an idea as in “Why don’t you..” you can use the question word Tham-mai meaning “why” too. In Thai, this is.. Tham-mai (khun) mâi..? For example, if a friend seems to be bored, you can say "Why don’t you go shopping with me?" which is “tham-mai mâi bpai súue khǎawng gáp chǎn lâ?

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Jay: สวัสดี ค่ะ

Hello เบนนี่

Thank you very much for your comment and question. กลับ can also means "to leave", when we are going to leave the party or work. We can say to our friends or colleague กลับแล้วนะ /กลับก่อนนะ /ไปก่อนนะ Which means "I have to go.". Hope that's help. Please let me know if there any future questions about Thai language. I will be glad to help you. We wish you will have a good progress with Thai.

Have a nice day.

Hi Parisa,

so "saai" means "left" as well as "late"? Is there a difference in the intonation?

Hi,

How come tammai is placed at the front of the sentence and not at the end?
