| 1. สุภาพ (sù-phâap) “polite” |
| First word is สุภาพ (sù-phâap) or in English “polite”. |
| คนญี่ปุ่นมักจะเป็นคนสุภาพ (khon yîi-bpùn mák jà bpen khon sù-phâap) |
| “Japanese people are usually polite.” |
| 2. เข้มงวด (khêm ngûuat) “strict” |
| ที่ประเทศไทย คุณครูมักจะเข้มงวดกับนักเรียน (thîi bprà-thêet thai khun-khruu mák jà khêm ngûuat gàp nák riian) “In Thailand, teachers are normally strict" to their students. |
| 3. เปิดเผย (bpòoet phooei) “open” |
| ฉันชอบคนที่เปิดเผย แต่ไม่มากเกินไป (chăn châawp khon thîi bpòoet phooei dtàae mâi mâak gooen bpai) |
| “Personally, I like people who are open, but not too open.” |
| 4. โกรธ (gròot) “angry” |
| แม่โกรธฉัน ที่ฉันโกหกแม่ (mâae gròot chăn thîi chăn goo-hòk mâae) |
| “My mom was angry at me because I lied to her.” |
| 5. ซื่อสัตย์ (sûue sàt) “honest” |
| คนทุกคนควรเป็นคนที่ซื่อสัตย์ต่อตัวเอง (khon thúk khon khuuan bpen khon thîi sûue sàt dtàaw dtuua eeng) “Everyone should be honest with themselves.” |
| 6. น่ารำคาญ (nâa ram-khaan) “annoying” |
| เพื่อนของฉันน่ารำคาญมาก (phûuean khǎawng chǎn nâa ram-khaan mâak) “My friend is very annoying.” |
| But this word, if you want to say that you are being annoyed by this friend, then you cut the beginning part of the word น่า (nâa) away. |
| So it would be: ฉันรำคาญเพื่อนคนนี้มาก (chăn ram-khaan phûuean khon níi mâak) “I was annoyed by this friend.” |
| 7. มีชีวิตชีวา (mii chii-wít chii-waa) “lively” |
| กรุงเทพเป็นเมืองที่มีชีวิตชีวา (grung thêep bpen muueang thîi mii chii-wít chii-waa) “Bangkok is a lively city.” |
| This word, actually, can be used with anything at all. So just now, you can use it with a place or a person, used to, can use it with a person as well. |
| So if it's a person you would say, น้องชายของฉันเป็นคนมีชีวิตชีวา (náawng chaai khǎawng chǎn bpen khon mii chii-wít chii-waa) “My brother is a lively person.” |
| 8. ภูมิใจ (phuum-jai) “proud” |
| ฉันภูมิใจที่ได้เป็นนักเรียนของโรงเรียนนี้ (chăn phuum-jai thîi dâi bpen nák riian khǎawng roong riian níi) |
| “I’m proud to be a student of this school.” |
| 9. ฉลาด (chà-làat) “clever” |
| เขาเป็นคนที่ฉลาดที่สุดในห้อง (khăo bpen khon thîi chà-làat thîi sùt nai hâawng) “He is the most clever person in the class.” |
| This word clever or ฉลาด (chà-làat) in Thai, you can also use if you want to say, he is smart, street smart or clever or wise. You also can use the same Thai word, ฉลาด (chà-làat), for those words as well. |
| 10. ใจดี (jai dii) “kind” |
| ฉันชอบคนใจดี (chăn châawp khon jai dii) “I like a kind person.” |
| ใจดี (jai dii), if you notice ใจ (jai) means "heart" and ดี (dii) means good. So people with good heart are people who are kind too toward other people. |
