Hello, everyone! Welcome back to Thai top words, I'm Jay and today, we will be doing 10 Must Know Autumn Vocabulary.

1. เสื้อสเวตเตอร์ (sûuea-sà-wét-dtôoe) “sweater”

เสื้อสเวตเตอร์ตัวนี้สวยมาก (sûuea-sà-wét-dtôoe dtuua níi sŭuai mâak) “This sweater is very pretty.”

2. ฝนตกชุก(fǒn dtòk chúk)“rainy”

ช่วงนี้มีฝนตกชุก (chûuang níi mii fǒn dtòk chúk)“It is rainy recently.”
In daily conversation, to be honest, I seldom hear people say ฝนตกชุก (fǒn dtòk chúk).I only hear it in the news, like weather forecast or in,
I read from like newspaper or something. The word ชุก (chúk) actually means "a lot" it's from that word like ตกชุก (dtòk chúk). So it means a lot, many.
So ฝนตกชุก (fǒn dtòk chúk) literally means that it rains a lot.

3. ลมแรง(lom raaeng) “windy”

แถวบ้านฉันลมแรงมาก(thăaeo bâan chăn lom raaeng mâak)“It is windy around my home.”
4. เย็นสบาย(yen sà-baai)“cool”

อากาศเย็นสบายมาก(aa-gàat yen sà-baai mâak)“The weather is cool.”

5. ฤดูใบไม้ร่วง(rúe-duu bai máai rûuang)“autumn”

ฉันชอบฤดูใบไม้ร่วง (chăn châawp rúe-duu bai máai rûuang)“I like autumn.”
Personally, I really love autumn in Thailand. Unfortunately, we don't have autumn. We only have summer and dry season and rainy season.

So when I go to countries, like Japan or and I know like in Europe where there's like beautiful autumn I would be very happy. You know the weather is cool and chilly and I don't know. The scenery seems prettier than normal.

6. หวัด (wàt) “cold”

ระวังจะเป็นหวัด (rá-wang jà bpen wàt) “Be careful. You might catch a cold.”
7. เกาลัด (gao-lát) “chestnut”

แม่ชอบกินเกาลัด (mâae châawp gin gao-lát) “Mom likes eating chestnut.”
Have you ever had chestnut before? I just believe that in some countries, it's very difficult to find chestnut to eat even in Thailand, you have to go to Chinatown to get it. I don't know about you guys. Let me know if you have ever had chestnut before.

8. เสื้อแขนยาว (sûuea khǎaen-yaao) “long-sleeved shirt”

เขาใส่เสื้อแขนยาว (khăo sài sûuea khǎaen-yaao) “He wears a long-sleeved shirt.”
So, longsleeve is เสื้อแขนยาว (sûuea khǎaen-yaao), เสื้อ (sûuea) is “shirt,” แขน(khǎaen) is “an arm,“ and ยาว(yaao) is long. If you want to say short sleeve shirt, it would be เสื้อแขนสั้น (sûuea khǎaen-sân).

9. ใบไม้ร่วง (bai-mái rûuang) “falling leaves”

มีใบไม้ร่วงเต็มพื้น (mii bai-mái rûuang dtem phúuen) “There are many falling leaves on the ground.”

10. วันขอบคุณพระเจ้า (wan-khàawp-khun-phrá-jâao) “Thanksgiving”

วันนี้เป็นวันขอบคุณพระเจ้า (wan níi bpen wan-khàawp-khun-phrá-jâao) “Today is a Thanksgiving Day.”
