Hi Stefanie,

Thank you. That is like his last name, in English People call people by last name when they are not familia right? I think that is his official name. Shorten from พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาเจษฏาบดินทร์ฯ Thai people refer to him as พระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว Please let me know if you have any future questions. I will be glad to help.

Have a good day.

Wait, I understand where it comes from now. But I still don't understand why we say Jessadabodina instead of นั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว because for Rama 1 and Rama 2, their real names were used. For Rama III, which is the real name and which is the title?

Why is his name written as Jessabodindra in the English notes, but his Thai name is written as พระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว? Where does "jessabodindra" come from?
