John: This is Must-know Thai Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 4. In this lesson, you'll learn words for expressing positive feelings. These expressions are often used when a person is impressed by something.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
John: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are...
Jay: เจ๋ง (jĕng)
Jay: ปังมาก (bpang mâak)
Jay: เจิด (jòoet)
Jay: ฟิน (fin)
John: Jay, what's our first expression?
Jay: เจ๋ง (jĕng)
John: This has no literal meaning, but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "cool or awesome."
Jay: [SLOW] เจ๋ง [NORMAL] เจ๋ง

John: Use this expression when you are impressed by something or you find anything cool or anyone with a cool personality. It can be used as an adjective or just as an exclamation. It does not refer to temperature.

John: This literally means "Bang!” or the sound of a gunshot, but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "gorgeous, stunning, dazzling, great!"

John: Use this expression when you want to say that something is "fabulous." It doesn't have to be used in a full sentence.

John: Okay, what's our next expression?
Jay: เจิด (jòoet)
John: This literally means "brighten up," but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "Fabulous!, Gorgeous!"

John: Use this expression when you’re in a very informal situation, where you want to flatter someone. It’s mostly used by girls; guys may not understand this word.

John: This word comes from the French word “finale” and the English word “final,” but when it's used as a slang expression in Thai, it means "extremely satisfied."
