Hello and welcome back to Thai weekly words with me, Prathana. This week, we will be learning about Clothing Accessories, เครื่องประดับ (khrûueang bprà-dàp).
1. ผ้าพันคอ (phâa phan khaaw) "scarf"
เราใช้ผ้าพันคอในหน้าหนาว (rao chái phâa phan khaaw nai nâa năao) "We use scarf in the winter."
Even though in Thailand, Thailand's winter doesn’t really require scarf.
2. หมวก (mùuak) "hat"
Actually the word หมวก (mùuak) in Thai can mean “hat”, or “cap”, or “beanies”, anything that’s put on the head, most of the things are called หมวก (mùuak).
วันนี้ฉันใส่หมวกเพื่อกันแดด (wan níi chăn sài mùuak phûuea gan dàaet) "I wear a hat today to protect myself from the sun."
3. ถุงมือ (thŭng muue) "glove"
เราใส่ถุงมือในวันที่อากาศหนาวมาก (rao sài thŭng muue nai wan thîi aa-gàat năao) "We wear gloves on the days that the weather is very cold."
4. แว่นตา (wâaen dtaa) "eye glasses"
เดี๋ยวนี้ คนนิยมใส่แว่นตาเป็นแฟชั่นกันมากขึ้น (dĭiao níi khon ní-yom sài wâaen dtaa bpen faae-chân gan mâak khûen) "These days, more people wear eye glasses as a fashion item."
5. เข็มขัด (khĕm khàt) "belt"
กางเกงตัวนี้หลวมไป เลยต้องใส่เข็มขัด (gaang-geeng dtuua níi lŭuam bpai looei dtâawng sài khĕm khàt) "These pants are too big so I have to wear a belt."
