Hello and welcome back to Thai Weekly Words with me, Prathana. This week we'll be learning about “housework” งานบ้าน (ngaan bâan).
1. เช็ด (chét) “to wipe”
เวลากินข้าวเสร็จแล้ว เราต้องเช็ดโต๊ะ (wee-laa gin khâao sèt láaeo rao dtâawng chét dtó) “When we finish eating, we have to wipe down the table.
2. ซัก (sák) “to wash”
ฉันซักผ้าสัปดาห์ละครั้ง (chăn sák phâa sàp-daa lá khráng) “I wash my clothes once a week.”
3. เก็บเข้าที่ (gèp khâo thîi) “to put away”
แม่บอกน้องสาวให้เก็บหนังสือเข้าที่ (mâae bàawk náawng săao hâi gèp năng-sǔue khâo thîi) “Mom told my sister to put her books away.”
4. ถู (thǔu) “to mop”
เราถูพื้นหลังจากกวาดเสร็จแล้ว (rao thǔu phúuen lăng jàak gwàat sèt láaeo) “We mop the floor after we finish sweeping.”
5. ตาก (dtàak) “to dry”
มาช่วยฉันตากผ้าหน่อยได้มั้ย (maa chûuai chăn dtàak pâa nàauy dâai mái) “Could you please help me hang the clothes to dry.”
