I just hope he finds a new job with a better boss. He's a skilled person, so he should find work without difficulty. If you know of any place taking applications, you can help him look. |

| Ja: This phrase means "how is it possible?" |
| Jing: ถูกต้องค่ะ “เป็นไปได้ bpen bpai dâai” is the verb "to be possible", and “ยังไง yang-ngai” is a casual form of the question "how?" |
| Ja: So we just put the two together and we get "How is it possible?" |
| Jing: ใช่ค่ะ เป็นไปได้ยังไง |
| Ja: OK, what's the next phrase? |
| Jing: เตรียมตัวไปสัมภาษณ์งาน dtriiam dtuua bpai sǎm-phâat ngaan |
| Ja: This phrase means "prepare yourself for job interviews". |
| Jing: ถูกต้องค่ะ “เตรียม” เป็น verb หมายความว่า "to prepare". |
| Ja: “ตัว dtuua” actually means "body", but when we say “เตรียมตัว dtriiam dtuua” it means "to prepare oneself", not just "prepare your body". |
| Jing: ใช่ค่ะ You have to prepare your mind as well. Finally “สัมภาษณ์งาน sǎm-phâat ngaan” means "to interview for a job". |
| Ja: สัมภาษณ์งาน is "job interview", but can we use the verb “สัมภาษณ์” in other situations? |
| Jing: ได้อยู่แล้วค่ะ คุณสามารถใช้คำว่า “สัมภาษณ์” เป็น verb หมายความว่า "to interview" ในสถานการณ์ใดก็ได้ ไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้กับการสัมภาษณ์งานเท่านั้น |
| Ja: OK, what's the next phrase? |

| Ja: This phrase means "to overreact". |
| Jing: ถูกต้องค่ะ “ทำ” เป็น verb หมายความว่า "to do", “เกินกว่า” หมายความว่า "more excessive than", และ “เหตุ” เป็น noun หมายความว่า "cause". |
| Ja: So the literal meaning is "to act more excessively than the cause". I'd say that's a pretty close definition of "overreacting". How do we say the whole phrase again in Thai? |

| Ja: เอาละค่ะ ตอนนี้เรามาดู grammar กันนะคะ Okay, now onto the grammar. |

| Ja: In this lesson, you’ll learn about using “ไล่ออก lâi-àawk” and “ลาออก laa-àawk” meaning "to get fired" and "to resign". |
| Jing: ใช่ค่ะ “ออก” เป็น verb หมายความว่า "to go out". |
| Ja: You use it in the phrases "to get fired" and "to resign", because the person is leaving or exiting a certain position. How about we start with "to get fired" first. |
| Jing: โอเคค่ะ “ไล่” สามารถใช้เพียงลำพัง เป็น verb หมายความว่า "to chase". |
| Ja: So the literal meaning of “ไล่ออก lâi-àawk” is "to chase out". |
| Jing: ถูกต้องค่ะ. It's like your boss chases you out of the office. |
| Ja: What example of this did we have in the conversation? |
| Jing: มีประโยคนี้ค่ะ.. |
| น้องชายพี่ถูกไล่ออกจากงาน náawng-chaai phîi thùuk lâi-àawk jàak ngaan. |
| Ja: "My younger brother was fired from his job". In this example, the verb “ถูก thùuk” is included to show the passive voice. |
| Jing: ถูกต้องค่ะ You usually use the passive voice in Thai in negative situations only. |
| Ja: And getting fired is definitely a negative situation. What about if you wanted to use “ไล่ออก” in the active voice? |
| Jing: For that, the direct object should go between ไล่ lâi and ออก àawk. ตัวอย่างเช่น เราสามารถพูดว่า... |

| hǔua-nâa lâi náawng-chaai àawk jàak ngaan. |
| Ja: "The boss fired my brother from his job." So it is like we are using “ไล่” as the main verb, and we need an object to follow it. |
| Jing: ใช่เลยค่ะ |
| Ja: OK, now let's talk about "resigning" |
| Jing: ค่ะ คำว่า “ลาออก” มาจาก verb “ลา” หมายความว่า "to leave" หรือ"to bid farewell". |
| Ja: How was this one used in the conversation? |
| Jing: มีประโยคที่ว่า... |
| ถ้าไม่ไล่ออกเขาก็จะลาออกเองอยู่แล้ว |
| thâa mâi lâi-àawk khǎo gâaw jà laa-àawk eeng yùu láaeo. |
| Ja: "If he didn't get fired, he was going to resign on his own." So in this case, we don't need to put any object in the middle of the phrase. |
| Jing: ใช่ค่ะ That's because when you resign or quit, you are just doing the action yourself. It's not an action that you do to somebody else. |
| Ja: Ah yes, that makes a lot of sense. So to review, the two phrases once again are... |

Instant ramen noodles, or mama as Thai people call it, is almost a staple food in Thailand. It's a go-to food for easy days, whether as a real meal or just snacks. When I was a kid we even took these ramen noodles as-is, crushed them into bits, mixed with the seasoning power, and ate them without adding hot water. (Not so healthy, I know.) ที่ประเทศอังฦษก็มียี่ห้อบะหมี่กึ่งสำเร็จรูปยี่ห้อหนึ่งที่ทุกคนรู้จักและนิยมทานที่มีชื่ว่า super noodles ครับ ไม่ว่าคุณจะทานบะหมี่กึ่งสำเร็จรูปยี่ห้อไหนก็เรียกว่า super noodles เช่นเดียวกันกับที่คนไทยชอบเรียกบะหมี่กึ่งสำเร็จรูปทุกยี่ห้อมาม่าครับ สมัยเป็นนักศึกษาผมก็ชอบทาน super noodles แทบทุกมื้อเลยเพราะว่าประหยัดเงินอย่างดี แต่ปัจจุบันนี้ไม่คอยทานแล้วนอกจากเวลาที่หิวมากและรู้สึกขี้เกียจทำอะไรกินเพราะว่าผมว่าเป็นของเปล่าประโยชน์ครับ

กำลังเติม อะไรคะ / และกินง่าย ได้ ค่ะ ได้ไม่ต้องเขียนค่ะ /จอยชอบกินมาม่าที่มีรสชาติต้มยำ ที่มีไม่ต้องเขียนค่ะ ชาติก็ไม่ต้องก็ได้ค่ะ /สมัย ไม่ใช่ สมาย แต่ใช้ตอนนี้ จะดีกว่าค่ะ ทันสมัยกว่า วัยรุ่นหรือคนปัจจุบันใช้กันค่ะ

I have a question regarding the 2 sentences from the vocabulary list and the actual dialogue:
a/ โชคดีกับการสัมภาษณ์พรุ่งนี้นะ "Good luck with your job interview tomorrow!"
b/ เตรียมตัวไปสัมภาษณ์งาน prepare yourself for job interviews
In the English version it is job interview / job interviews in both sentences but in the Thai version once you use การสัมภาษณ์ whilst in the other version you use สัมภาษณ์งาน. Could you please explain the reasons behind it?
So, in version "a", would it have been wrong for me to translate the sentence as โชคดีกับสัมภาษณ์งานพรุ่งนี้นะ ? If so, is it because of the "กับ"? Does it require to be followed with a noun that is formed using either การ or kwaam?
You see, I am now really lost here. 5555

I was wondering if I want to say ”I can take a one year break from my studies” is it like ”ฉันสามารถลาเรียนเป็นเวลาหนึ่งปีได้” Or do I need use verb พัก?
Then I also wondered whats a word for skipping school due like laziness? 😅

แต่ที่นี่ก็มีบริษัทบะหมี่ชื่อ"indomie" no "ถึง" ครูไม่รู้จักค่ะ ครูไม่ค่อยได้กินบะหมี่นานแล้วค่ะ แต่ถ้ากินก็จะกินบะหมี่ไทยค่ะ เพราะรสชาติถูกปากมากกว่า
