Regarding the sentence 4th from the bottom---chan ja khap bpai song khun thii baan--could this be said better, thus: chan ja khap rot song khun bpai thii baan--?

isn't it simpler to say
khun jà bpai gin zāh̄ār yĕn gap gàp phŏm mái?
also why is the lady talking in your example referring to herself as 'phŏm'?
