When word is name after English loan word we try to pronounce as close as the original language as we can so tone rule not matter when it come to speaking but still does it job as spelling. According to tone rule "เมลอน " mee-laawn midtone in both syllable but in speaking everyone say "mee-laawn" with falling tone on second syllable. Hope that's help.
