Hello Helmut,

Thank you very much for your comment and question. For sample sentences it is just an extra sample usage of words we introduce in the lesson so it doesn't have to match. There are no rule and logical of how to spell the word. Student will have to remember how to spell individual word. When I was a student we done a lot of spelling test but all of us fail all the times. You can always check spelling online or in dictionary, some dictionary also provided spelling pronunciation guide. For example http://www.thai-language.com/id/4163 Hope that’s help. Please let me know if you have any future questions. I will be glad to help. We wish you will have a good progress with your Thai.

Have a good day.

Hi,

The PDF download have sample sentences. The online do not have the same. When I do Thai to English translation, it does not show the same. Please help. I also fail to see how the pronunciation works.

คุณ = khun

คุ = means buffalo.= kaw-kwai

ณ = budist novice = naw-nain.

How does this make up the word Khun.

Thanks Helmut.

Hello Kris,

Thank you very much for your comment. We really happy to hear you find our lesson very useful. Yes, you understood right. Just put "khrap" with high tone after your name. Will indicated that you are male speaker and polite particle to use as well. Hope that's help. If you have any questions about them let me know. I will give you more explanation if you needed. We wish you have a good progress with Thai.

Have a great day.

Hello. This series is very helpful. Thank you for your time in putting this together.. If I just wanted to answer with my name alone, would I still use the "krap" after just my name alone, being that I am a male?

Thank you in advance!

Great format and lesson. However it wastes too much time on fictional names. About 50% of the lesson was pronouncing thai fictional names! haha I feel it's a waste for beginners to learn these at this stage. Ditch those and it'll be solid.

Hi Matthew Smith,

Unfortunately the romanization is not an available option. You can choose only between Thai and English.

Please let us know if you have questions.

Thank you,

Ofelia
